Experience

Are you feeling scared, overwhelmed by your own life, or perhaps depressed, frustrated, under pressure? Have additional months of pandemonium and restrictions affected your life and mental state? Maybe you don't fully understand what is happening to you, how you are feeling, behaving? Maybe you are lonely, misunderstood and don't know how to get out of this difficult state? You probably know that you need professional help and to talk about various aspects of your life that are weighing you down. Whether you are going through a key life change, dealing with challenges at work or in your personal life, psychotherapy can help you. I work by creating a trusting and safe atmosphere so you can more easily talk about your worries, difficulties, fears, anxieties and negative thoughts that are disrupting your life. I will help you to put your difficulties into perspective, to better understand yourself and life among your loved ones, and to build relationships with yourself and others. As an integrative therapist, I mainly use psychodynamic theory, which helps, among other things, to understand how we form and persist in relationships. Depending on the client's needs, I also use methods such as gestalt (e.g. becoming aware of one's needs, being aware of what is happening in the body), CBT (e.g. noticing the relationship between emotions, thoughts, beliefs, behaviour and symptoms in the body), art therapy (working with drawing), among others. My experience of working with people from different cultural, social, religious, national, age and sexual orientation backgrounds helps me to understand almost every situation and behaviour. I am interested and open to working with clients who want to improve their quality of life. As an MBACP (member of the BACP- the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) I work according to the ethical principles of this organisation and my work is regularly supervised. I trained as a psychotherapist in London. In Poland I graduated in philosophy and pedagogy (I also worked as a teacher for 6 years). I have worked and continue to work as a psychotherapist for charities and in private practice in London, where I have lived for 17 years. Since 2016 I have been involved with the organisation MECS, for which I work psychotherapeutically with Polish people as well as people from all over the world. Since 2011 I have been working with people experiencing more serious mental difficulties including schizophrenia, psychosis, personality disorders. In addition, I have extensive experience in volunteer work (I have organised projects/congresses/workshops on psychological topics). My professional interests span the spectrum from unhappiness to happiness: trauma, depression, anxiety, relationships, couples therapy, positive psychology/happiness and its broad understanding.
