Experience

Hi! My name is Katya. I am a psychotherapist in training and a Gestalt approach counselor. For me, psychotherapy is a fascinating exploration—almost like a detective investigation—into what prevents a person from living a truly happy and harmonious life, and what helps them in this process. How I can be helpful and the issues I work with include: heightened anxiety and fears, codependent and toxic relationships, difficult relationships with mothers, self-realization, experiencing toxic levels of shame and guilt, professional and emotional burnout, self-worth, relationships and communication within families and couples, navigating crises, coping with severe losses, difficulties in parent-child and interpersonal relationships, and other personal challenges. In my work, I use the Gestalt approach and art therapy techniques. I am open. This means I am willing to share myself and my experiences within psychotherapy if it benefits my clients. I am ready to listen and truly hear. Together with the client, I am prepared to uncover what is hidden, to find the pain and emptiness behind insecurity, shyness, fears, or a cold mask. I am tolerant and imperfect. Perhaps perfection belongs to some robot or computer, processing information flawlessly without mistakes. But I live in a world of equally imperfect and living humans. I will strive to help those who also want to embrace their imperfection. I am regularly supported through personal and group therapy and supervision. In my work, I also rely on participation in therapeutic and intervision groups as well as my personal experience. From September 2020 to June 2021, I participated in a supervision group for practicing Gestalt therapists at KGU (trainer Svetlana Yakovenko) and a therapeutic group focused on practice development (psychological center “Territory of the Daring”). In July 2021, I attended the 14th Summer Gestalt Intensive at KGU. In September, I took part in a training course on working with eating disorders. I have 12 years of entrepreneurial experience and 3 years of practical experience in individual counseling.
