Experience
I am a certified psychotherapist working in the Gestalt approach. I have been practicing as a psychologist for over 12 years. Since 2017, I have been working as a psychotherapist. I gained professional experience in psychiatric hospitals on wards for adults struggling with affective disorders (depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders) and psychotic disorders, in non-governmental foundations working with people with disabilities, mental and neurological illnesses, and those at risk of social exclusion, in public and private schools, as well as in psychological-psychotherapeutic and psychological-pedagogical counseling centers. I have also had a brief experience in corporate HR.
I have experience in diagnosing emotional, educational, behavioral, and social difficulties in children and adolescents, as well as in supporting parents in dealing with the challenges of raising children. I am the author of original workshops for children and adolescents focused on developing emotional intelligence, and workshops supporting parental competencies.
My work for others began already in my teenage years, when I volunteered for children from orphanages and those in difficult family and economic situations. For my involvement, I was awarded in the "Eight Magnificent" competition.
Currently, I mainly work therapeutically, providing individual psychotherapy for adults and adolescents, as well as support and counseling for parents.
Work Areas
As part of my psychotherapeutic practice, I offer support to adults struggling with low or unstable mood, difficulties managing emotions, depression, and anxiety disorders. I invite to work with me those who feel lost in life, face challenges engaging in activities, choosing a life path, building satisfying relationships, or feel they are not living their own life. I also support individuals with low self-esteem and those who feel they have lost the meaning and joy of life.
I also work with young adults who, for various reasons, find it difficult to begin independent living and experience heightened anxiety and confusion. Additionally, I provide parental consultations.
Therapy Approach
In my therapeutic work, I use a holistic approach, assuming an inseparable connection between the body, emotions, mind, and the environment in which a person lives. I also recognize and take into account the spiritual dimension of human existence, as I believe not everything can be reduced to numbers, statistics, and formulas.
I use a variety of methods tailored to the needs and difficulties of the clients I work with. However, my primary tool is the therapeutic relationship and the attempt to understand how what occurs between the client and the therapist reflects the person's inner world and how they form relationships—with others, with tasks, and with themselves.
In working with people, I am convinced that in addition to formal education, a psychotherapist’s personal development is essential. I believe that living a healthy and fulfilling life involves taking responsibility for one's own behaviors and emotions. That is why I participate in personal development trainings and workshops and have undergone several years of personal psychotherapy. I also practice Vipassana.
Education
I graduated with a degree in Psychology from the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (KUL), specializing in Clinical and Personality Psychology. I also completed a four-year comprehensive psychotherapy training at the Institute of Integral Gestalt Psychotherapy, in accordance with both Polish and European standards for psychotherapist education. I hold a psychotherapist certificate from the EAGT. I continuously enhance my qualifications by participating in workshops and training programs. I regularly consult my work in supervision with accredited supervisors. I work in accordance with the professional code of ethics for psychologists and psychotherapists.
I have studied and use a variety of techniques and tools, including motivational interviewing, meditation and breathing techniques, projective methods, body-oriented psychotherapy, working with imagery and metaphor, dream work, transactional analysis, attachment-focused work, the use of psychodrama techniques in individual therapy, and creative techniques including the use of art in psychotherapy.
