Experience
My name is Natasza Treffler. I am a psychologist, educator, and psychotherapist. I completed my Master’s degree at the University of Wrocław, and I am currently expanding my knowledge and refining my skills through a four-year program at the School of Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy at SWPS University.
I have been working with children, adolescents, and adults for over 10 years. My work is regularly supervised. I am a member of the Polish Association for Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (currently in the process of certification).
I practice psychotherapy within the cognitive-behavioral (CBT) approach. This method is known for its high effectiveness—supported by scientific research—and its deep humanistic foundation, which emphasizes respect for the individual. In this perspective, therapy is a meeting between two experts: the therapist is an expert in therapeutic methods, while the client is the expert on themselves—their emotions and thought processes.
I completed my psychology degree in 2008 and since then have worked as a psychologist in various settings, including a diagnostic and rehabilitation center for children, leading sociotherapy groups for adolescents, a psychological support center affiliated with a social welfare office (where I primarily worked with adults facing various life challenges), and a center for youth with behavioral and social difficulties. I also completed internships in psychiatric hospitals and mental health clinics.
Since 2019, I have been providing individual psychotherapy in the cognitive-behavioral approach. I welcome contact from adults, adolescents, and parents of children struggling with emotional difficulties.Work Areas
I work with adults and adolescents experiencing distress related to anxiety (including generalized anxiety disorder, panic attacks, and social phobia), depression, relationship difficulties, personality disorders, insomnia, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
I also provide parental consultations.Therapy Approach
I work within the cognitive-behavioral approach. The therapeutic process involves the client and therapist working together to understand the mechanisms that contribute to the development and maintenance of the client’s difficulties, and then aiming to change those mechanisms—primarily through changes in thinking patterns and behavior.
This approach is generally short-term, and the methods used for specific disorders are based on scientifically validated treatment protocols.Education
I am a certified cognitive-behavioral psychotherapist. I completed a five-year Master’s degree in Psychology at the University of Wrocław and a four-year postgraduate program in Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy at the School of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy at SWPS University.
A second area of interest that I pursued in my educational path was working with children and adolescents. I completed a degree in Special Education, a one-year course in Sociotherapy, as well as numerous trainings in this field.
This year, I also completed a specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I).
