Experience

I have fourteen years of experience working with children and parents, as well as ten years of experience working with adolescents and adults in psychiatric care facilities. On a daily basis, I work at the Center for Psychotherapy and Personal Development, where I provide psychological counseling, diagnosis, and individual therapy. Additionally, I work at a private preschool, where I conduct, among other things, social skills training for preschool-aged children and offer parenting consultations for parents.

Work Areas

In my work, I help adults who experience high levels of stress, pressure, anger, shame, and loneliness; who worry excessively; have difficulty identifying their needs and communicating assertively; struggle with low self-esteem; feel fear of intimacy, rejection, or criticism; experience a loss of life meaning; or are grieving. My main professional areas of interest include: - Anxiety disorders (including phobias, panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder) and mood disorders (depression, bipolar disorder); - Personality disorders; - Eating disorders; - Psychotic disorders; - Various forms of personality support and development that positively impact both physical and spiritual well-being, such as mindfulness, yoga, relaxation techniques, and meditation practices; - Parenting counseling for parents who wish to develop their parenting skills.

Therapy Approach

I strive to treat each person individually because every human being, with their unique history and personality, is one of a kind and exceptional. The knowledge and experience I have gained allow me to tailor therapeutic techniques and plans to the specific needs and difficulties presented by the client. My work is primarily based on cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and schema therapy, but I also use techniques and methods from dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) as well as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Schema therapy is particularly suitable for individuals with chronic psychological disorders, personality disorders (including narcissistic and borderline), treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, interpersonal relationship problems, and eating disorders. This form of psychotherapy aims to reach the root causes of the problem and equip clients with tools that provide a foundation for improving their well-being and behavior.

Education

I graduated in psychology from Maria Curie-Skłodowska University. I completed a four-year therapeutic training program at the Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy Center as well as a four-year doctoral program at the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology in Warsaw, where I combined scientific research with clinical work. Additionally, I have completed schema therapy training and other supplementary courses. In the interest of my patients’ well-being and in accordance with accepted standards, I regularly participate in clinical supervision.
